Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Geemal, and I am currently a Jr. Industrial Designer on the R&D team at Saco technologies. I hold two bachelor degrees; the first a Bachelor of Industrial Design from Carleton University and, the second a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Ottawa where I specialised in sculpture. 

I started my professional journey at SACO five years ago in 2019. I started as an intern on the Engineering team with me moving to the Pre-Design team and eventually landing in the R&D team. 

My current role requires me to work with our architects and engineers to develop products from the idea stage all the way to production and testing. This is done with sketches , mockups, 3d modelling, FEA studies using Solidworks and renders with Keyshot and rapid prototyping. The second  aspect of my role is to create custom integration solutions for our LED products based on the project requirements and constraints placed by clients and the timelines. The last aspect of my role is to produce and maintain design documentation for Procurement, Manufacturing, Production and Quality control while also providing technical documentation for clients.

On the less professional side,  while I'm not working. I’m usually working on my photography skills focusing mostly on automotive and sports. When I'm on the sidelines taking pictures I'm usually on the pitch playing rugby and managing the social media for the Westmount Rugby Club.
